I thought electric collars have been banned now haven't they? I'm not a fan of them anyway, I prefer the CO2 spray collars. I will be getting a CO2 spray collar when I can afford it as they're a bit pricy and this should work. I know the 'pet corrector' spray can I have is very effective and stops him doing what he's doing but it's hand held rather than a remote control collar type. electric collars are very cheap on ebay unlike the spray ones however im sure you could knock up somthing owen with a few brackets on the posts and some wire running between them may be a little ugly but he will be safe.

He would be safe but I'm not so sure about my neighbour's small children. They do make alot of noise though so it could be a win/win situation.

Oh don't say that Jess, Butch is the size of a cow! I'm brasing myself for him being 23" now having got used to the thought of him being 22".
What does Butch weigh? Sonny is 46lb at the moment and there's very little fat on him so is probably going to be 60lb+...I would imagine Butch is quite a bit more than that.

You're right, they're quite similar. That Dogo is very nice, many that I've seen don't look very well conditioned and lack muscle mass and definition but she looks superb.

I'm only joking really. I always knew he was going to be a very big, strong dog so I was prepared for it. I haven't put a harness on him yet because funnily enough he grew out of my one before I got to try it on him. I'm going to look at buying him one in August and giving him a go then. I'm going to buy a dog scooter to get him in condition when he's big enough so I'm going to need a decent harness.

I love the long back, the athleticism etc. I have never understood the standard that specifies a short back denying the dog a full-range of movement and hindering its athletic ability. The first thing that came to mind was a Dogo for me as well.

The first thing that came to mind was a Dogo for me as well. Unfortunately there are still lots of breeders who believe that the Bull Terrier was bred as a show dog and therefore had to be capable of nothing more strenuous than walking up and down the mat. Is strange that these people don't look into the history of the dog they're breeding before they decide how it should look. The short back started to appear around the 1930's-1950's along with ever more bully appearance and that funny shaped head.

Before these changes in the standard calling for the short back etc. look at what the BT was instrumental in creating, some of the best large game hunters on the planet. I can´t believe the breed can´t become true again to what it once was, and looking at some of the stuff on this site it seems to be getting there. I thought I had moved away personally from the bull-and-terrier group towards the rangier running "seizing" dogs, but these Ingles dogs have reminded me not to turn my back on a well bred bull and terrier of whatever denomination. Great stuff! BTW, I have just clicked on www.molosserdogs.com today and seen a lovely fit looking coloured BT on the home page so it seems there are more out there
