It is possible to train with meat. You can give the dry ones. You can dry it by yourself or buy it. Here we have dry pieces of the stomach of a cow or sheep. I don't know how you call it in English. Or you can use sausages in little pieces.

Oh no, we use dried meat or cooked liver for training as well. But when they're puppies I like to train them with their actual meals, cause you get 10 times better respond from your dog when they have to work for their meal.

Raw here all the way- i have taken in dogs that have never seen raw food before and from the off fed raw ,the biggest problem was that they didnt identify raw with being food and were totally conditioned to pellets in a bowl being the only food there was. Once over that the biggest reason dogs get an upset stomach changing over is because the balance isnt right,i havnt had a dog here in the past however many years(and at one time i was taking in a fair few a month that irresponsible Irish stafford breeders were producing) that didnt change over very easily I don't doubt that there are dogs with iffy stomachs ( that is a whole new debate for me) however, more likely that the owners get all panicky then screw up the feeding. I blame alot of this on websites and various advice about raw feeding. There is someone in the bullbreed world who has dedicated an entire website on this risiculously complicated detailed raw diet that apparently is the bible on all things raw. It is utter rubbish- is anyone does want to feed raw and is uncertain about how to do it without problems and just a healthy dog please feel free to ask me. It is a VERY simple process, the benefits( both to the dogs condition and teeth, picking up after your dog ,etc) way out do the cons . It is,of course,a choice and i would never try to force it on anyone . I don't use food as rewards during training anymore, although i used to but that is probably another debate again in itself. If anyone out there expects to see in their breeding lines dogs that cannot eat the food most suited to their species then they seriously need a good look at their stock
