Those heavy horses are impressive beasts, we were up in Cumbria recently had a ride in dray pulled by a couple of Suffolk Punches and the feeling of power as they start to pull the dray and then accelerate is incredible. The ease with which they can pull such an amount of weight surprised us, shame they are getting so rare.

I only know Cob's and Fell Ponies!!!! Now my daughter would know Neil!! I have learnt about horse shoes that cost £150 a set now those are Jimmy Choo's of the horse world!! They sound like titanium horse shoes unless someone's getting ripped off. I persuaded Neil to get the cavalry to try them thinking that they might be the way forward for horse shoes. They got a company to supply some so they could test them and apparently on tarmac/concrete they wear like they're made off chocolate and they make sparks too...not good when there's hay everywhere. He reckons they're good for for competition and are certain types of corrective shoeing but they're not great for everyday use. I'm trying to persuade him he needs a thermal imaging camera now so that he can pinpoint arthritis and infection...yes, he thinks I'm nuts and he could be right, they are £2k ;D
