I do it to stop any swelling in the stomach, I've also heard that dogs can't regulate their fluid intake correctly if they eat dry food and soaking makes it easier for the dog to do it. I'm not sure how true that is but I know that my dog eats quicker with soaked food which I believe is more natural. I soak it in boiled water for a few minutes and allow it to cool, I also stir it occassionally which also helps it to cool.

You can use gravy but you need to be very careful about the salt content, the same is true of marmite, only a small amount should be used.

Decide on one type of food Martin and try sticking to it for a fortnight..........she may just need to get used to it. When dogs diets are changed, its not un-common for them to get tummy upsets.
