i think a bit of everything works better pal, it' stops the dog getting bored of one thing all the time, a bit of drag pull, spring pole, pushbike, a frame , ball launch, flirt pole and the good old fashion walk, make sure they get good rest and good food and you cant go wrong.

Do some drag pull instead, you don't have to pull a weight cart. You can use a tyre, some heavy chains or even weight lifting weights attached to a harness and get your dog to drag it around a nearby field. Start with a short distance and then increase the distance slowly and increase the weights slowly. This will increase the dogs pulling stamina and get him used to having something being pulled behind him, then when you start on the weight pulling cart the dog will not be nervouse having the cart rattling behind it. keep the dog on a lead at first, and give lots of praise, not every dog will pull, Hope this helps.

does a spring pole build muscle tone or is an a frame better I believe it does , it's good for most muscles like neck, shoulders, back and legs. make sure the dog's back legs reach the ground. I don't have any experience with A - frame yet, but I think that when training to intence it can cause some damage. As been said here before it's best to combine several different training methods so your dog doesn't get bored to soon. Do not only train for muscle tone, but stamina aswell. Good luck with it !
