hi everyone i have tried to get kye walking on our human treadmill but he's shite scared of it i have even got him just sitting on the mill..but soon as it starts he's off..even the bribe of food dont work..any ideas..i dont want too use the mill to replace walks as i like walking myself.its just for extra fitness..Alza

Alza,have a go at the little & often routine once Kye realises that ok this is new but not a real problem then you can build it up from there,try him on 2 min at a time with a change of function after or a treat maybe!

lol..stanley i cant him too stay on for 30 seconds..lol..but i will try some treats see if i can get him on it for a few mins thanx alza

Personally i wouldn't praise him until he becomes relaxed around it or on it - otherwise you are only confirming his fear and reassuring that his wrong feelings to wards it is correct.

i agree with jess you need to make him go on hold him on it wen he walks on it then treat him watch the dog whisperer lol he makes em do it just keeps them on it till they do it

I have found letting them watch a dog that does do it gets them interested

you could try feeding the dog on it for a week, then after that feed him next to it with the treadmill turned on, again for a week. and then turn it on and encourage the dog with his food to jump on It while its turned on! it may or may not work, some dogs just wont work on a mill or the spring pole for that matter! good luck. i have a dog and bitch, brother and sister. the bitch will work on both, her brother wont work on either,and i have tried everything!
