Dogs looking fab dont give up on the demodex we treated abbey for 18 months the vet said shed have it for life proboblly but its gone. She had a litter of pups this year and they have been tested for it too and are all clear. She hasnt been treated now for over a year.

Thanks for that Kirsty its such a relief to hear that, especially as I have had four vets advise me not to breed from her, I researched on this and hopefully - as none of Nina's Imediate ancestors have suffered this and she was the only pup out of two big litters that has it - theres a slim chance she may pass it on, she has such a wonderful drive, I would love a litter from her .

i must add abbey tested clear for 10 months before we bred from her. we wouldnt have done it otherwise. It is passed from mothers milk by all dogs correct me if im wrong but only the ones who amune systems cant fight it will suffer.

Yeah thats right, hers is only localised Demodex, I got rid of it completely then she had her first season and it came back, vet reckons its not that bad and she should be ok got another bottle of Aludex to use, Im going to keep a good eye on her through her next two seasons at least, in the mean time were going to have lotts of fun together LOL
