Once or twice a day?

How many times a day do you feed your dogs?

Does it make any difference?

I feed mine once a day.

I have all ways feed my dogs twice a day. One small meal when we get back from are morning walk and the offer after are late afternoon early evening walk. i do this one to stop blot and two so my dog is not so full up that he goes in to a deep sleep and lase so he can not do the job that i have got him for.

I feed my dogs twice a day (complete fresh meat dog food). In the morning before I head out for work and in the afternoon when I get home.

why would you feed before a walk?

work not walk neil, We feed our pups 3 times a day until around 6 months then drop to 2 a day but by the time they are 1 they are only on one evening meal after we have eaten.
Also before a comp i feed the dogs earlier around 20 hours before hand.

If someone wondering why, its because my male got problem with his stomach and getting problems when hes "emty". He used to wake me up at nights to get out and eat grass... it wasnt so fun. That doesnt mean Iam giving them more though.
Is there any special reason some here give their dogs food just once a day? I mostly hear people giving their dogs twice.

There's no special reason why I feed mine once a day and that's why I asked the question really, to see what people's views are on it and see if I should change. It's so long ago since I started doing it I can't actually remember my reasoning.

Both my Dogs seem O.K with it and my feeding regime is a bit complicated so being lazy I'd rather only do it once a day but I'll try it twice a day to see if it makes any difference.

I used to feed mine once a day but I read somewhere feeding once a day increased the risk of somethin g to do with the stomach so i switched to twice a day

i read on the abruk forum i think some one copyed a artical saying that a dogs stomach is like a deflated ball when empty and is thin but wen they eat it fill up and the dog needs to un fold the stomach fully to get the max out of the meal because if ur only feeding a small amount at a time a few times the dogs stomach is not fully expanded and not all the emzines can get to work there for there not getting full vits and minarals out of each meal i dont no if thats true or i have got the wrong end of the stick i aint a member there no more so cant find it again

I would feed once a day if they are really active and that would be after all there intense excersise.
Twice a day if not so busy and and generally taking it easy.
I do this because i see a difference when they are hundgry, much more speed and drive.

I do twice a day something small and light for breakfast at 9 eg. 2 weetabix, goat milk and banana or banana and natural bio yoghurt etc. and for dinner at 6 would be some raw meat eg. beef, chicken, tripe etc.

I used to feed Milla once a day but i found that when her dinner time came round she would wolf it down despite she is quite a slow - medium eater she would just inhale her food. Needless to say that only lasted 3 days.

I personally feed only once a day in the evening after they have had their workout etc... dont know wether it would make a dffernce to feed them twice a day or not its just easyer for me as i feed RAW.I would rather feed it once a day thats all
