Macy's got a dodgy eyeball. It was weeping a bit this morning and the third eyelid has come across a bit, I've flushed it with salt water using a syringe and it seems a little better so I'll leave it until tommorow but is there anything I can get from the chemist that might help?

Hi Owen, Sabre had alittle eye infection a while ago did the same washed out with warm salt water to dislodge anything that may be stuck in there. I then just put eye drops in such as Optrex it's pretty much the same stuff as what the vet would give you but the optrex is alot cheaper. If it hasn't cleared up in about 3 days then I would get the vet to have a look. Vettie

Cheers, Yvette. She's had a bit of yellowy-green discharge this evening so I'm pretty sure it's an infection so I'll get some drops in there ASAP.
I'll take her to the vet if it doesn't improve over the weekend although I might have to find another vet...I won't bore you with that story lol.

Don't know of anything from the chemist as i've never had eye problems, best keep it fresh with warm water and wipe with a piece of cotton wool (one piece per wipe) until you get to the vets to prevent further infection. Fingers crossed its nothing too serious.

It's getting better thanks. It was pretty horrible and swollen but I got some anti-bacterial eyedrops from Tesco (own brand) and it's slowly improving, it's less swollen and no discharge anymore. Fingers crossed that's the last of it.

That's good to hear Owen that Macy's eye is getting better. Keep doing the drops for at least another week even if it does look all clear. Sometimes if there is a infection and the medication is stopped to early it can resurface. Like the doctors say when they give you antibiotics they always say to finish the course.

She's almost back to normal today but I will keep giving her them though, thanks.
You should see her when I get the drops out, she does anything she can to stop me doing it...I don't think she likes me at the moment lol.

She won't like you, had the same battle with Sabre when she was poorly trying to syringe liquid down her throat. Tablets now get hidden in her food. Macy will get over it they don't realise it's for their own good. Glad she's on the mend though.
