Alot of people that I know are switching to the Barf diet or a mix of raw and dry food. I prefer a good quality dry food for convenience with cod liver oil and the occasional dessicated liver tablet. My dog seems to do well on this and as long as her coat is good, she has plenty of energy, her stomach functions well, she enjoys her food and there are no health issues then that will do for my purposes.
I always try to buy the best quality feed I can and have found that expensive is not always best. It has taken some experimentation and speaking to experienced people to get their views but I have found a good food in Australian Formula and will be sticking with that unless I find a reason not to.

I feed raw with a good amount of fats, and a hand full of hills nature diet. I feel its important to learn and reseach what the contents of dried feeds are. Theres alot of fillers/bulking agents in most feeds which are nutritionally useless. Dogs cannot consume cerials and just pass it out. Mine have a superior coat quality since feeding raw and energy levels are high. They utilise the energys from the fats. Its no more expensive just needs Freezing. Daniels book is eagerly awaited
