Maybe its a bit too much you have to watch the dogs joints? - go by how he seems? flirt pole is a great exercise for them it great fun for them too.... Our bert used to be so gangely almost ratty - bless him!! then suddenly he hit about 16months and bulked out almost over night. where as poppy has been ripped and toned from 6 weeks!! The best way to tell if you are over walking if hes pulling on the lead...we dont lead walk ours that much they are off the lead most the time so you can see if they are tierd they stop and lie down then you know its too much - time to go home! You are keen and obviously enjoy exercising with the dog so you are going in the right direction!

With lily when she was that young i did use the flirt pole but more to encourage her co-ordination more than tire her out. An hours walk a day should be more than enough. I wouldnt worry about much more than co-ordindination and if your going to compete him at events then the flirt etc will help to encourage drive. I think you can really bring the drive out if encouraged early.

make a flirt pole with a bamboo stick or horse whip some string and a plastic bag should suffice

We haven't done much with Harvey in his first year. He has only just started the A frame but even at 12mths he is still very much a pup. He does a bit of coursing but still lacks very much behind Skye when they go for runs as she twists and turns and loses him. Poor boy! She did mature a lot younger than him. Maybe he will never fully mature being male!!! only joking!

Yea mate ! dont over do it at that age. very important 4 walks a day + playing with him aswell , our Beau is a top performer & i walk her 3 times a day + 1 training session about 15mins & she is 2& half years & this is only to bring her on 4 the next show . so i would build it up slowley. & he should still be on 3 meals a day . & if he,s still hungry give him a bit more you dont wanna bring him on to quick . build him up , let him eat as much as he needs to ,within reason 4 the first year , then start to condition him properly after that. ;D

cheers jjbullterriers yeah i will cut his walks down to 3 times a day when i am feeding him i give him small amounts at a time he gets about 50-70grams of dry food per feed 3 times a day which i soak before i feed him. i also let use flirt pole every other day for about 5 to 10 mins & i always take it away from him when he still wants to play to keep him keen..thanx for the info

Why not try the shoes&boots when you walk with you lovely puppy ?i did .it is very wonderful, you know ,i do not need wash the paw for her any more, and of course there are many many function of the shoes,i list as below: The function of the dog shoes&boots: 1. The rubber or leather sole is flexile and durable, performs in wet and dry, hot and cold conditions;and also protect the paw from road chemicals, lawn treatments, scratches and from nail marks, provides support and insulation 2. Lightweight, breathable, porous design(mesh, fleece) keeps dog's paws cool and dry 3. Easy to put on and difficult to slip off------with strap and zipper. 4.Some have Velcro straps with slides fasten the shoes and boots tightened.
i also want to know the opinion of you, thanks.
