I thought I'd introduce my crew.
This is my girl Arez {pronounced like Aries}. She is an unregistered "pit bull" and I've had her since she was a pup. She is a TOTAL sweet heart. Loves everything and everyone. She is quite a submissive girl, eager to please but sensitive so you have to be very soft with her. She will be ten in a few days, but is still quite like a puppy. She's always been CRAZY high energy and she still has the same spunk, but she is starting to get a little stiff after activities so I'm trying to keep her a little mellower but it can be tricky as her mind and drive haven't caught up to the fact that she is now a senior dog! lol She has a very special bond with my daughter Raven and actually was alerting to us one time when Raven started to get sick as a baby. I always pay close attention to how she is relating to my daugther because I know if she starts showing certain behaviours, I should keep an eye on Raven's health. She is truely her guardian angel.
This is my boy Tank, littermate to Arez. Tank lived with us off and on until he came to live with us permanently at three. He went through two irresponsible owners, until one of them got him in trouble and he gave him up to us as he realized it was the best thing for Tank as he obviously couldn't handle him. Tank is an amazing boy but quite a handfull as he is 95 pounds and INTENSE. He is AMAZING with people big and small, but if you aren't careful with him, he can get himself into trouble with other animals, mainly animals he doesn't know. Once an animal is his friend, it's his friend for life, but strange animals can spark a very strong prey/fight drive reaction in him so he is definitley a dog for experienced hands. I've learned so much handling this boy and now he makes all dogs that come after him seem easy in comparison! lol
This is my new girl Scarling who is eight months old. She is my first registed APBT. We had a really tough year not only loosing my first girls, Venus, Marz and Nyx, but also loosing three fosters, one passing naturally, two having to be euthanized, one for health reasons, the other for temperment, so I figured it was time to bring a little joy back into our lives so we got Scarling. She is a real doll. Very submissive and geeky on one side, but she's got alot of drive which makes her a ton of fun! You can actually check out her pedigree here...

And now my fosters...
This is Bailey. She is around the same age as Tank and Arez. Bailey has been with us for about two and a half years and my guess is that that is where she will stay. Honestly, I can't understand it really. She is an amazing girl and a very easy keep to me although she does have some special needs. She has pretty severe allergy issues so it's a constant concern but we've come a long way in getting things under control since she's first come here. She can also be dog aggressive but not really over the top or anything. It seems like most people looking to adopt aren't that interested in an itchy dog aggressive dog. She doesn't have much drive though. Not really in to doing much but snuggling! lol Very obedient and responsive though.
And last but not least, Deeohgee, who is around four. Deeohgee came to us at about 7 months old. Her owner just couldn't be bothered with her so was going to put her down. The sister of her owner put a plea for her life up on a pit bull forum so I scooped her up. She spent a good year with us before being adopted as she was just too high energy for your average person looking to adopt. At one point, we tried her out for LawDogs [ www.lawdogsusa.org/ ]as her toy drive is pretty over the top. She failed one of her tests though as when new people would approach, she'd leave her search to say hi, and although she would return directly to her seach after the greeting, it was still unwanted behaviour. Finally, we thought we found the perfect home for her, but unfortunatley she was returned two and a half years later as they guy who adopted her, now was a soon to be dad and they thought she would hurt the baby. :/ This is a dog that has been around kids her whole life and LOVES kids. It was very disappointing on one end, but the more I talked to the guy, the happier I was we were getting her back because it was obvious, he didn't follow ANY of the advice we gave him on how to handle her. Rescue can be very frustrating as people can be masterminds on saying what you want to hear, while not putting any of it into practice once the dog is in their care. We considered giving her a try with LawDogs again but during her stay with this guy, she had an ACL tear so that pretty well disqualified her from trying out again. I have a feeling she, along with Bailey, will probably be here til she's old and grey, and we are fine with that as she was always a household favorite. Where most people looking to adopt seem to want those calm, driveless dogs, we thrive on the crazy ones! lol
All that I need now is an Irish line SBT pup and our household will be complete! lol
