I just thought I"d share the link to an event I put on last spring. We had two walks, one in Toronto and one here in British Columbia. Not only did we raise over $5000 for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation but we also raised over $600 for "pit bull causes" which included a nice chunk of money to go towards the Legal Challenge fund for the fight against the pit bull ban in Ontario. It was so much fun but I'm really stuck on whether to do another one here locally. After Raven getting sick from the dogs twice, like I had mentioned before, we have quarentined our household animals from any new ones, and if any of the ones here show signs of sickness, we quarentine them away from Raven until they are healthy again. She is SUCH a dog person, it would kill her to be permanently separated from the animals so we are hoping this new method works. She REALLY wants to do another walk here as she had so much fun. It was like an reunion of our foster dogs! lol I can't decide if we should throw caution to the wind once a year and carry on with this event or if we should just work to put on walks in other areas.
