howz that any good for the dog??? i dis like that whole hearted. have much for fun when walked on a lead ffs It's not meant to be a replacement for walking. It is a more intense workout, used for short peroids to condition the dog and strengthen muscles. Most dogs really love it, if they don't then it just doesn't work and we would not consider trying to force a dog to do it. It is important to remember that the dog can stop whenever it likes and you can't force it to do this, only encourage it. We like to use all the tools available to condition our dogs but we would never use anything that we consider the dog would not enjoy. Some of the things we do may look a bit strange or even cruel to others but we know our dogs well and their happiness and welfare is our highest priority. A variety of exercises is crucial to promoting enthusiasm, strength, fitness and preventing injury. The treadmill is an excellent tool when used correctly. It is designed to be used in 5-10 minute bursts and is a great addition to a fitness regime, not a substitute for any other exercise.

lke you said when used correctly it is brilliant - most importantly you have to know your dog! you can tell when they are enjoying somthing

They are widley available now, there are various brands for sale at crufts, seems some are seeing sense they were even on Dragons Den, and are now selling thousands a year!. They maybe seen as paraphonalia but, if its obvious that fitness is your only goal then that shouldnt be even continplated?
