right i'm getting a ten week old staffy X jack russel 2mora hes the last of the litter and no body wanted him coz of his size lol bless him..
Heres a the story lol. i put on my facebook that i wanted another dog(i miss Benn terribley) and i got a knock at the door about 20mins ago, i open the door to an old friend(maybe a year since we spoke and she only lives up the road lol) "i hear you want another staffy, come to mine ive got something to show you"
so i go round.. and what comes bouncing to the door to meet me.. but this litter(well i say little lol) puppy, he stops right a tmy feet and just looks at me with them eyes.. i go down to stroke him and he licks my fingers etc etc..
wll cut it short i fell in love(never thought i would again) well anyway he goes for his last shots tomorrow, and i'llbe taking him home(obvs not free but no need to discuss price tags when its something we love eh?)
i just wondering what to feed him..
at the mo she says hes eating porridge in the morning, kibble during the day and some tinned meat( devils food i kno lol) at dinner...
i dotn realy want to be feeding him tinned food heard so many bad things about it.. so what can i replace it with?
altho is there anything else i should be feeding him?
Cheers martin

Great news and a really nice cross. Whatever you do with his food just make sure it's a gradual change although you could probably get rid of the tinned meat over a short period (about a week, reducing daily) and replace it with more kibble. As long as he is fine with that you could change the kibble to another brand of your choice but do it gradually over 2-3 weeks, start off with a 75/25 old-new mix then 50/50 then 25/75 etc and monitor him to make sure he's not got the runs. Good luck mate, really pleased for you.

yeah hes on bakers somthing or other atm.. i plan when hes a bit older to be feeding him tripe and rabbit with liver etc like we did with benn as wegto great results with him.. granted he wont get as big as benn,, but he defo looks a freak(in a good way) hes nearly the size of his sire LOL
Cheers.. i dont think i'l be trainin him hard, just keep him in good shape.. maybe take him rabit/rattign with my mate?
any sugestions on kibble? Cheers again

I use Australian formula scientific greyhound diet but it's tricky to get hold of, I know some people who use Eukanuba (sp?) and rate it, I'm sure others will have some recommendations. I don't think you'll find many people using Bakers, it's not rated by anyone I know and I think it contains alot of fillers (stuff like maize that has little nutritional value) and artificial colourings.

Hi Martin......when my pups were little as soon as they came off the weetabix, puppy kibble food mixed with lactol and scrambled eggs I put them on raw food and thats is ......a couple of chicken wings 3 times a day....i did have them on kibble mixed with Lactol to make sure they got all the nutrition they could. When it comes to kibble i dont like giving it to my dogs now but I used to use Eukanuba.....cant fault it too much...its one of the better ones.
