Only tell him off when you catch him doing it and not after, he won't get what he's being told off about. You can buy a spray that's very bitter from most pet shops which is good at putting off all but the most determined chewers (like Lily). Also make sure he's got plenty of his own chews too.

when we got lou she slept her cage the first year and a half , wich i think is the way to do it , i have had a few dogs all bullbreeds and there all the same chew anything, one of my staffs chewed a hole in a plaster and lath wall the size of her head lucky she didnt hit any cables !!!!!!!!!!!! the cage is the way mate safe and secure for the dog!!!!!!!!!

we only put lou in it when we went out. and when we went to bed, the door was always open during the day when we were in with her bed in it and she used to use it when she wanted, we used to catch the mastiff in there too,if you put a blanket over the top they like that to.

Thing is matt, we cant leave the doors open round here, and with the weather too, as theres alot of cats round here that like to come in the house, and i dotn really wanan have to pay for the vet bills of the catswhen lennox mistakes it for a rabbit(wink wink) lol theres always some1 in the house as my mum n dad dont work, with my dad been disabled its hard for him to get the dog out in time when he goes to the door, my dad been disabled is also the reason we cant have the door open...

I managed to get a large used cage on ebay for a tenner which I didn't mind paying as Sabre attacks her cages when fireworks etc go off. Cage is definatly the best way to start them out.
