the pups look good and very healthy good job! Always interesting to see somthing a bit different, will be nice to see how they come on. Its hard to tell on size, how do they compare to a stafford pup at this age - what kinda size you think they will be?

Hi guy's, as a few of you know i have been let down very badly with the proposed new owners of these pup's. I am aware that this is not an ideal situation to be in just after christmas but before i bred Dolly i was assured that 4 ( 5 including the one i was going to keep ) would be taken and may only have 1 or 2 homes to find.I had planned this breding for just over a year with research and the like and all the best intentions of people, but now i find myself in the place of having 8 pup's here which are 8 weeks on Sunday with no real homes to go to. I will take all the flack and abuse you have to throw at me without a word back, but would appreciate if you could ask around for me as i just don't have the room for all these dog's !.I have advertised elsewhere but what with the pup's nearly 8 weeks i have to swallow my pride and ask for some assistance in this. Please PM me if you have any info, thank you

that really sucks mate i know how you feel after people pulled out on us too. My friends are looking for a staff i dont know if they could be persuaded. Ill keep my ear to the ground mate for sure. Are they classed as lurchers ?

No shame in asking mate, finding them good homes is the main thing. They are well bred dogs for sure and if anyone's in any doubt let me tell you how good Dolly is, she's a top class Stafford and very quick should make an excellent first cross.
They would be classed as Lurchers Shakk, anything crossed with a running dog is called a Lurcher although most people would call them Bull Whippets.
I'll PM you, I know someone who might be interested.

Oh Brad i do feel for you, its a hard time of year for pups. I must admit i am surprised they seem to be a well thought out breeding, and both good dogs - people must be struggling more than we realize. I will ask around too, better off they go to pet homes i guess, working homes is quite a tough life for any dog let alone a lurcher type. Have you advertised any-were on line that may help? Try the free ads or maybe epupz or something like that? Best of luck im sure between us all we can try and help.

Brad, you'll find homes don't dispare. It will take a little time, some of mine were 10 weeks when they went and I had one back for a while. They are cracking wee pups anyone who homes will be pleased. It is always hard when people let you down but everyone on this forum is with you. Keep you chin up. Rose

The pups look very healthy Are they going to pet homes? I ask as i cannot help but wonder that if you intend then as workers what you had in mind that bull could bring to the table for rabbiting dogs? I am not knocking your breeding decision ,it was entirely yours to make i just wondered why you didnt just get yourself a pure whippit or beddy x whip or beddy/whipxwheaten/grey?

czbruno, like i said i'll take i'll take all the flack you want no worries. These pup's can go to either pet or working homes imo. I used Dolly as i personally feel she's proved herself to be worthy of bringing pup's into the world. Her temp around my kids, other dog's, my 3 cats, my 2 ferrets, my friends baby's is unquestionable imo. Running dog's are notorious for having bad feet, weak skin, lack of bone but do bring speed and a fairly laid back attitude to the table. Cross this with a dog that has drive , is bidable, a genuinely loving nature, good muscle and bone structure ( Not the best confirmation but thats a matter of opnion ) good feet, then you'll have a rabbiting / lamping dog that wil take a knock or 2 and not have to be laid up for weeks, plus it will also have ( hopefully ) the right bone and muscle to do all the athletic stuff that i do now, plus when we go to game fairs and the like it will be another interst for myself and my family to have, rather than just the small circles we move in now. I did consider buying in a pup but there was nothing out there that ticked all the boxes for me. The nature of the sire is great and his achievements speak for themselves so i would of got a pup out of him but there was nothing that came close to what i wanted. Also when you buy a dog it's never easy imo. You are having to believe the person who'm you are buying from. So if he say's it's o.k with children or alright with other dogs you only have his word to take. Not for me i'm afraid, i want to see the dog in his natural enviroment and see what he's truley like. alright and o.k are not words i'd want to hear. Brilliant, fantastic, great are words i like to hear. You seem to know a bit cz, what dog's do you run ??
